The First Giveaway, Winner
The winner of this incredible book is Tara. Please email me your address so I can get you on your way!
Yes, I promised it on Monday…but here it is. Therapy Shoppe is awesome, many of you know that. But what you don’t know is that they are completely in tune to adoptive parents needs as well. They know that many adopted children struggle with Sensory Integration Disorder. So, that said…their first giveaway is a handbook just for you.
Its a new book, and a new one for Therapy Shoppe as well. Everything Parent’s Guide to Sensory Integration. Personally, I have read the best books out there…Sensory Smart Child Has Fun, How to Raise a Sensory Smart Child, etc. but there are days that AJ’s issues just get to me. Are his sensory issues so severe that I just don’t get him or is he just being a regular kid?
I would love a guide like this to walk me through it again. I needed a guide like this prior to our adoption. No one told me about sensory integration, so now I’m telling you!
This outstanding guide is a treasure trove of helpful information on SID! Written especially for parents and caregivers–but an excellent resource for therapists and educators, too–this exciting new book includes chapters on: An Intro to SID, Getting a Diagnosis, Look-Alike Problems, Using an OT-SI Approach, Sensory Diets, Parents as Therapists–as well as excellent information and discussions on all the senses, SI at Home/School/Play/In the Community, and much more. Packed with practical strategies, examples, references, and resources, this very reader-friendly book is truly a one-stop-guide.
