Murder and Abuse Charges for Russian Adoptive Parents
This saddens me and it worries me that something unfortunate was going on in the home. From the articles that I have read (and obviously they will all be biased) it seems that they were trying to adapt to their new adoptions but were dealing with unforeseen hardships.
The four-year-old did not seem to be eating (and had several hospitalizations for malnutrition and dehydration). If that was his fault or his parents is not yet known but it could very possibly be his own doing due to sensory issues or an inability to physically swallow (which, because of his age would go unnoticed).
The 14-month-old who was killed could have easily been harmed by another child in the home (either the four-year-old, a two year old who was also adopted from Russia, or one of the two biological children). But, it is hard to determine how that could happen given his injuries; bruised face, head, knee and anus.
What is interesting in this case is that the father, Fyodor Emelyantsev, is a Russian citizen. Wonder if Russia will prosecute him for murder if the US finds him guilty?

I know this couple personaly, I know my friend Fyodor more than 10 years he is like brother to me, Kimberly are great friends to me and my wife, are both believe there are no place for murder. I met them in Moscow several times when they did travel for Luka and Nicoli adoption, also they did stay at our home for visit. First kid had extremally low weight before adoption process, and Nikolai had huge health problems. They did everything to survive their lifes. This is appalling mistake….
